Plastic Injection MoldingPlastic Injection molding is a manufacturing process for producing parts by injecting plastic material into a tooling. Injection molding can be performed with a host of materials, including metals and most commonly thermoplastic resins. Materials for the part or parts are fed into a heated barrel, then mixed and forced into a mold cavity. After cooling, it hardens to the configuration of the cavity or mold. When a product is designed by an industrial designer or mechanical engineer, the molds are made by a toolmaker from metal; usually aluminum, pre-harden steel or stainless harden steel are machined by CNC, EDM, then Wire-cut to form the features of a desired part. Injection molding is widely used for manufacturing a variety of parts, from the smallest components like mobile-phone buttons, to larger size, like a car bumper. Parts are designed to facilitate the injection molding process.
PCB Layout / SMT / PCBAPCB, printed circuit board mechanically supports, and electrically connects, electronic components using conductive tracks, pads and other features etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate. PCBs can be single sided, double sided or multi-layer. Multi-layer PCBs allow for much higher component density. Conductors on different layers are connected with plated-through holes.
PCB requires the additional design effort to lay out the circuit, but manufacturing and assembly can be utomated. Manufacturing circuits with PCB is more efficient than other wiring methods as components are mounted and wired with one single part.
A PCB populated with electronic components is called printed circuit board assembly or PCB assembly (PCBA).
